A headpiece that represents the eye of the storm. It’s centre was made from hand-rolled ombre cotton organdie and biot feathers, while it’s rotating winds consist of 60 burnt ostrich feathers. This blended headpiece is surely a whirlwind.

*Natural Disasters and the Beauty Found Within*

Natural disasters have become a staple in today’s society. Whether it be hurricanes, tornadoes, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, drought, wildfire, or avalanches, many parts of the world have first hand experience. Is the frequency of these occurrences a direct link to global warming? Or, is it just a coincidence that the frequency of such natural disasters has increased? This collection is set to challenge the notion of darkness surrounding natural disasters, and push the audience to see that under every hardship, there is new beauty to be found. I set out to immerse the audience with a sense of heaviness, mixed with a sense of hope for a better tomorrow with the use of colour, shape, and detail.
